Best Calvin Coolidge quotes

Calvin Coolidge was an American politician and lawyer who served as the 30th president of the United States from 1923 to 1929. Coolidge acceded to the presidency after the death in office of Warren G. Harding, just as the Harding scandals were coming to light. He restored integrity to the executive branch of the government and gained back the confidence of the people while continuing the conservative pro-business policies of his predecessor. He gained a reputation as a small-government conservative and also as a man who said very little and had a rather dry sense of humor. He was even nicknamed “Silent Cal”.

John Calvin Coolidge Jr. was born on July 4, 1872, in Plymouth Notch, Vermont, and is the only US president to be born on Independence Day. Coolidge Senior engaged in many occupations and developed a statewide reputation as a prosperous farmer, storekeeper, and public servant. Coolidge worked his way up the ladder of Massachusetts state politics, eventually becoming governor of Massachusetts. His policies were mainly pro-business and aimed at tax-reduction. He retired as a widely popular figure. He passed away on January 5, 1933.
